While searching for Aplomado Falcons this week at Laguna Atascosa NWR we ran across this little beauty. They are pretty dull from a distance but if you are lucky enough to get close for a good look, they are actually quite pretty. I also find it pretty amazing that they can stand on all those cactus thorns and not get poked!
