While birding around Galveston yesterday we made a brief stop by Lafitte’s Cove and the bulk of the birds we observed were on the ponds. As we walked past several Northern Shovelers flushed from the pond and flew right past us giving a nice photo opportunity. Thankfully we were prepared for the possibility of a flyby and I was able to catch this shot of one of them.
