We have three of these huge eucalyptus trees across the back of our house.
Over the years we've lived here (40+) we've had a tree lopper control the way
these trees grow to keep them from leaning over the house and perhaps dropping
a limb. There are always birds in the trees, especially at flowering time.
the koalas don't like the flavour of the leaves, they have a lemon tang which
obviously doesn't appeal to the koalas.. also the straight trunk doesn't appeal
either, they prefer an easier tree to climb. the tree on the right is a Lillypilly
and young koalas have over the years slept in this tree, it is very leafy and
protective. The pile of wood is waiting for one of our son-in-laws to collect
for their wood-fired pizza ovens.
