Well Done E9, 1914

Unknown

oil on canvas

Just days after the loss of the first British warship
to a U-boat in 1914, HMS E9 commanded by Lieutenant
Max Horton sank the German light cruiser 'Hela'.
HMS E9 had become the first British submarine to
successfully sink an enemy ship.
