We finally flew the Cessna today. The purpose was to test out the new ADS-B equipment. Bloke went out and did the flying and did a transponder check with Ellington. It turns out the Mode C was reporting too high. Not good news.

On the other hand, the ADS-B gadget worked flawlessly. You don't to do any fancy testing, just fly around. When you get back all you have to do is request a Public ADS-B Performance Report (PAPR) from the FAA. You enter your call sign and a bunch of other stuff and they send you a report with all kinds of data which I couldn't even begin to understand. The only anomaly in the report was the Mode C report, but we knew that.

Next step is figuring out the problem. Bloke, bless his heart, crawled under the panel and we did some air leak checking. Looks like the airspeed, altimeter and VSI are leaking air. So it will be off to the shop for them.
