So sorry about not being able to upload our last 4 days of the trip!
They are all posted now!
The last 2 hotels blocked Pbase! 🙄
After a lovely breakfast at our hotel, we set off for the National Railway Museum to meet up with Lesley & Steve Oliver. We all had a great time checking out more than 100 locomotives. Famous trains include the record-breaking Mallard and the only Shinkansen bullet train you’ll find outside of Japan. There’s also an impressive collection of royal trains, including those used by Queen Victoria and King Edward VII.
After a delightful light lunch at the Grand Hotel, we revisited the York Minster. What a magnificent cathedral! We had hoped to photograph the minster at night; however, very little of it was lit up. 🙁
We did photograph the Shambles and other shops after dark. Disappointed that there were not many floodlit buildings.
There is never enough time to see and do everything that York has to offer. York is a compact city and is easy to get around by foot; needless to say, our Fitbits were busy counting many steps! We are sad to be leaving Yorkshire today; we’re off to Woburn with a stop at the Yorkshire Sculpture Garden.
