On the way back to the parking area I spotted this Bears Head Tooth fungus - Hericium coralloides. I've seen this a couple of times in NC also. It's supposed to be edible. The day turned out to be a lot better than we had anticipated. Maine has a lot more to offer than just the national park. We just didn't have the time on this trip.
