VW Slug Bug Ranch

Conway, TX

It was not a great day for photography with often direct harsh sunlight and plain blue skies, but I wanted to show an overview of this place which includes the VWs stuck in the ground as well as some other buildings and a couple more vehicles some of which are out of sight. Most of it gets redecorated occasionally by people coming by and demonstrating their artistic talent or lack of it with cans of spray paint. The shadows are from a very old motel/cafe sign ( https://pbase.com/dlgphoto/image/170287964 ) that can be seen from the highway - now I-40 but prior to that Route 66. I will have a shot of that later.

They do add much needed color to the area!

They better watch out for Graboids! (Remember the movie Tremors.)

Ah ! how sad - I loved those bugs - at least we can see them and they weren't crushed ! Makes for a neat shot V

A very intriguing idea to stick these bugs in the ground. The spray painters make them even more interesting. V

a fun colony of bugs...the painted adornments do enhance the scene...cool to see down the line to the buildings..
