Yesterday was wet & rainy; however, we had a lovely day! Our first stop was the charming village of Knaresborough. The aqueduct & hills reminded us of Phoenixville in Chester County, PA! The views from the castle ruins were fabulous, especially with autumnal color.
Dan & I returned to Harrogate for a traditional tea at Betty’s! This was our first official tea and we felt it was only proper to visit Betty’s for this special occasion. Betty’s did not disappoint, though we were stuffed when we left! We popped into the Royal Pump Room to learn more about the Turkish bath history in Harrogate. Afterwards, we drove to Ripley (believe it or not!) to see this tiny little village. There was a beautiful graveyard on the grounds of All Saints Church. The rain, mist & blanket of leaves were magical! The pub at the Boars Head Hotel was the perfect stop to dry off and have a cider.
Today we will depart Harrogate for Robin Hood’s Bay on the North Sea. Hoping for sunnier days!
