Akarçay Tepe structure. A notice speaks of “the animation of the two structures at Akarçay Tepe”, I think I’d rather speak of “reconstruction” or maybe “diorama”, and have the feeling something went wrong in translating “can vermek” or a similar phrase with “can”. Whatever, they belonged to the Pre-Pottery Neolithic Period, 8000 BC. A single-room structure whose walls are completely made from stone and a multi-room structure with no stone foundation, but with adobe walls. The structures are authentically animated [reconstructed] in terms of size and location, based on ruins unearthed at the dig site. The roof structure and its height is based on examples from other sites.
Another notice explains “This site was one of the first agricultural villages to emerge in the region during this period”, i.e. the Pre-Pottery Neolithic Period , “a time in which plant and animals were gradually domesticated.”
