Stanley turned out to be a smaller and more different town than I expected. It had a bit of a frontier feel to it. The country store was very, very, different from what I am used to. I got a turkey sandwich at the gas station store for about 3 dollars, something that would be unheard of in our parts. Pickup trucks and camouflage clothing was more common than usual.
