Artist Statement: 2007. I mentored a group of youth weekly during workshops who created their own mosaics for the garden at the Community Centre.
The youth were initially given small plywood boards to to learn the techniques and given concrete paving stones for the actual mosaics for the garden.. Themes explored by the youth were based on what they wanted to express about the area. Sunsets, boats and fish were very popular as were birds and plants. The Salmon Festival logo, a happy face, ice cream cones and a bare foot expressed summer memories.......
