I think this is probably the latest I have ever paddled up here in Canada. My paddle bud for this paddle was my brother. He was the guy responsible for getting me into this paddling thing.

What a fantastic day for a paddle. Although it was quite windy it was a bright sunny day and the temperature was not a problem. We were dressed for it. The fall colours were spectacular but subdued due to all the evergreens mixed in.

We went to the Bedford Mill, which is no longer a functioning mill but a private home. It was a very active mill in it's day, as evidenced by the large quantity of log slabs visible in the clear water at the bottom of the lagoon where the mill is located.

A rather unusual site was the house boat that had been converted to a cottage. Several years ago, a house boat rental outfit went out of business and sold off their boats. This was one of them. Myself and some friends had actually rented a house boat, not unlike this one, from the very same company. Again, many years ago.

We saw several Canada Geese and turtles. We even saw my ever present Blue Heron which I seem to see on pretty well every paddle I do. I'm not complaining. I love seeing the Blue Heron. Surprisingly, no loons!

Last paddle for 2019 and an enjoyable one.
