Inspiration for this tea pot started after I hollow turned a piece of Northern Birch and a friend gave me a piece of cactus. I was intrigued by the texture of the cactus and wanted to reflect that in the tea pot. I created a handle for the pot and the lid out of the cactus. Then I made a spout and glued it to the pot. I then pierced, textured and painted the tea pot to reflect the real cactus.
