We reached Lake Boga for our first night away. It is a very small town (NOT the attraction) but also a lake of the same name, one of a series of flood plain lakes along the Murray. Lake Boga is a pleasant recreational lake and was surprisingly filled with water as most of NSW and northern Victoria are gripped by severe drought. Lake Boga has, in the past, been completely dry, as many old images show.
Fortunately for us it was filled and looking beautiful, especially in the late afternoon and early morning.
Lake Boga was Australia's principal flying boat base during World War 11 and the history is celebrated at the Flying Boat Museum.
