Colosseum, Edge of the Outer Wall

Rome, Italy

Due to an earthquake in 1349, the Colosseum is seriously damaged and an entire section of its outer walls collapsed. That is why you see this diagonal today. Wedge shaped pieces were put in to keep it from further collapse.

Beautifully captured with a strong composition and steller lighting. The people in this image add a wonderful sense of scale. A very beautiful image!! VV
