Roanoke, Virginia was once a major hub for the Norfolk And Western Railroad and later the Norfolk And Southern Railroad. Those times have passed but the Transportation Museum in Roanoke has worked to preserve the memories of this history. The museum has a number of steam locomotives and other railroad memorabilia among it's collection of display exhibits. Always a fun visit and a great place to take kids and in my case a grandson.
