World War 2

Dutch Harbor

Dutch Harbor was the first location in the continental US to be bombed by the
Japanese in World War 2. Japan occupied the Aleutian islands of Attu and Kiska
far to the west and had planned an attack on the US mainland. This was
repelled on the Aleutian Islands at a very high cost to both sides.
