BRINGS BACK MEMORIES

This is a 1950 Ford shown at the Falcon Country Classic Car Show In Elmira, Oregon. I owned a 1951 4-door, back in the mid-fifties. Mine was green. I bought it when I was 20. It had a flat-head V8 engine, meanig no overhead valves. I had a lot of fun with that car. In actual fact, those cars got good gas mileage, more like 15-20 MPG. And the cheapest I ever saw gas was 25 cents a gallon. In my day, it was more like 25-35 cents a gallon. I could drive all day on a dollar's worth of gas.

From the grille, I would say this is a 1950 Ford Cpe. My dad bought one new and I had one or two in my younger days.

A very nice “Shoe Box” fifties Ford. Shoe Box was the nick name by hot rodder’s for this model Ford. V

Been a while since I have seen curb feelers. [my current car has tiny radar sensors and I get a warning when the curb is too close - times arrrr a changin!]

We had a few in the family back then.. still have a soft spot for them.. this one looks to have an extended rear bumper for a "continental" kit spare tire on the back

Nice old car. Needed a lot of engine to move all that metal around.

How fun, Vern. In addition to being a cool car, it's always fun to be reminded of special memories.
