Location: Shediac River, Shediac Bridge, New Brunswick, Canada
Date: August 7, 2019
Temperature: 25C (73F)
Distance Paddled: 9 km (5.6 miles)
# people: 4
This location is in the Northumberland Strait, between Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick. Our original intent was to paddle out into the Northumberland Strait and do a circumnavigation of Shediac Island. However, when we arrived for the paddle, the winds were very strong and it was decided to do the Shediac River instead. Easily done, the starting point of the original paddle was the mouth of the river! Another bonus for me was that I had never paddled the river before. It is both salt water, and tidal at least for a ways. We were there at high tide.
We did see lots of Canada Geese. Also saw sea gulls and one blue heron. Very pretty area with lots of expensive homes/cottages.
This also gave me the opportunity to test out a new paddle which my brother got me for my birthday but I didn't get until coming down to Moncton. It worked great!
Enjoy the pictures.
