This Solitary Sandpiper drove me absolutely crazy as I tried to get a photo as it foraged along the banks of Olney Pond at Brazoria NWR. I was trying to use my car as a blind and could pull up near where the bird was feeding and over and over the bird would allow me to stop but as soon as I tried to aim my camera he would fly away. As the day progressed, I made the loop several times and each time there he would be. As if I was in the movie Ground Hog Day, each time before I could click a single photo, I would hear that alarm call and poof, gone! Finally, on my last pass there he was one more time but this time he showed me some mercy and gave me a couple of clicks before I headed home. Not quite like the vision I had in my head but I will take whatever victory I can get.
