A Need for Speed

I was out at sunset yesterday taking surfing shots. When the light got too low for high speed stop action I switched to slow shutter speed panning. It produces an impressionistic view of the sport, smoothing the water and imparting a sensation of speed. It's where art meets action. The talented surfer providing the action is Paul Quessenberry.
