25: Memories

Alfriston, East Sussex view map

Why is this a memory? Let me explain.

Came here today as it is one of very few places in southern England where you can see the Wall Brown butterfly.

But the only other time I have been to this spot was 50 years ago on a school trip, focussed on Geography. I still have the filled out exercise book which includes this view in outline. I have that book somewhere!

At 15, that was my first time away from family and consisted of four days in this area and another four in northern France.

Isn't it marvellous that you can see the butterfly there. Is there a white horse below you there. ( I've looked at your map )
A great photo, Ray.
