With the season so short at this elevation (at least 10K'), the ground bursts with all manner of
flowering and insect life (at least what's left after the pesticides) and radiates with color.
The red is Wyoming indian paintbrush (Castilleja linariifolia); the yellow is shrubby cinquefoil (Potentilla fruticose).
