An antique 19th Century or earlier tsakli painting in mineral pigments depicting a macabre flayed skin from the 'assembly of wrathful offerings' usually found on the walls of protective deity chapels (goong kang) which are used as in sacrificial ceremonies to appease the most wrathful deities. This type of offering essentially represent part of the mandala environment of extremely wrathful deities - the flayed skin, among other fleshly offerings represents ignorance and hatred, and are 'conquered by the gods to whom they are offered. 8 lines of text including 1 red illumination, plus a single syllable. 9.2 x 11.9cm
