Protector

An antique 19th Century or earlier tsakli painting,
mineral pigments and gilt, depicting, within a burst of roiling flames,
a green-bodied, wrathful deity steps vigorously to the right on his lotus throne.
He carries a dorje in his right hand, a goad in his left.
He wears a skull diadem, armlets, anklets, bracelets, and heavy earrings,
and an unusually tied tiger skin dhoti - the head, sporran-like, to the fore.
This cloth tsakli has been rebacked with card.
Two lines ofTibetan text to the reverse. 10.5 x 12.5cm.

other sizes: small medium large original auto
