Sam's Knob along with Black Balsam are both located adjacent to the Blue Ridge Parkway near Graveyard Fields in North Carolina. Both require hiking in but there is always an opportunity for a spectacular sunset or sunrise. If you decide to camp overnight there is always the possibility of both a terrific sunset and sunrise weather permitting. I mentioned the weather because it can change quickly in both locations.
