Lines From a Missed Opportunity

While we were in the city we visited the Whitney Museum.
I was not impressed.
It was very expensive to get in and the floor with all the Edward Hopper artwork was closed.
The works were very avant-garde.
I am pretty open minded but I just didn’t think the work was very good.
However I did miss an opportunity with this piece.
I didn’t notice that the circle in the middle was a mirror until I was processing the photo.
If I had been more observant I could have used it to take a selfie, thereby putting myself in the artwork!

The selfie is a great idea. I have a catalog of missed opportunities in my head - perhaps someday you'll be back here to check this one off.

A fine composition, more interesting than a lot of so called Avant-Garde pieces ! V.

Too bad you didn't enjoy your visit. I always loved the Whitney. Did you see Alexander Calder's Circus?

A great capture all the same, Jane. But cannot be nice to not see what you paid to see! V

I also would have been disappointed to miss Edward Hopper. My uneducated opinion of this is stuff it has no rhyme or reason...and as polite as I can be.

A poor artist friend of mine told me that the artists that get touted are the ones with the best media representation, not necessarily the best art. They also have to be very good at self promotion.

Still a nice composition. You could always Photoshop yourself in!

I agree, having you in the scene would have definitely put it over the top.

I agree, this piece of artwork would have been much better it you were in it!
This isn't my kind of art.

That could only have improved it Jane 8-)

An interesting display, and well captured. I like those shadows, too. V.

You'll just have to go back for that selfie Jane.
