5-29-2019 Calliope Hummingbird - the smallest in North America

This was a real treat to be able to capture. These guys are tiny! I love the spiky nature of their gorget (throat feathers).

The final hummingbird of this series. If you haven't already done so be sure
to take a look at the preceding images.

Many thanks for your kind words, Hal.

Thanks Terry.
l was taught years ago that
l'm certain that you already agree with the saying that
"The most important part of the camera, is the monkey behind it."
The combination of the 500mm plus 2x must be quite difficult to control
especially with one of the smallest birds in the world …. in flight ….
even in momentaryily almost stationary flight. A masterful and delightful image.

Thanks Hal. It was the miracle of tho 1,000mm
lens combination that get the credit. (:-)

A wonderful In Flight image, Terry.
They are so small that this would have to be
classified as a MACRO photograph.
