It was a tall stem, and I shot with the camera close to the ground. The closest grass was a lot farther from the dandelion than the dandelion was to the lens. Dave

It is certainly true that f/14 would have more DOF, and the green background would have more structure and features. I can still see a hint of them here at f/8. But that would be more usual. This almost uniform background is a bit unusual. I like the look around the stem, which has to have closer grass. Jim

I kind of disagree a bit...this needs f-11 or 14...it is impossible to know if Dave doesn't shoot it. Traveller

That's our lawn in the background. I was shooting close to level, so it's at least 10-20 feet behind the dandelion. Dave
