Today featured a drive up Waimea canyon. This is certainly one of the best known landmarks on Kauai. There are several observation points along the way. For the first few, there were no clouds, but the sun was not in a good position. So we took photos anyway. The advice we had been given was to go early before the clouds come in. Well, the clouds did come in for the last two stops which were overlooks of the Napali coast. We lingered about at one of them and the clouds cleared enough to get some decent photos.

On the way back down we stopped in Waimea at JoJo's to get a shave ice. It is a giant snow cone which is atop a generous scoop of macadamia nut ice cream. Very tasty and refreshing.
