One never wants to go over the top in Post, but sometimes the changes are subtle, difficult to choose between....anyone has an opinion on these? Thanks....

I have knee pads I use on the job that I use a lot. If I’m lucky I’ll get a year out of them in professional use. The padding breaks down first then the Velcro in the straps bites the dust. But for occasional use...... who knows how long they would last.

I’m curious tho, is this garden in china town? Paul

Traveller - lots to comment on.
Re gardens - in both Minneapolis and Tucson, we have large regional gardens, and we have smaller "neighborhood" gardens. The regional ones see a wide variety of people, the neighborhood ones just the folks who live nearby. But it is an interesting subject that could be discussed from many directions.

Re photos - I agree that many people do not have a clue as to how to take good photos; including the time it takes, and the techniques needed. The explosion of cell phone photography and "selfies" has been a leading cause, imo. And the high use of the cell phone & texting has led to more and more people being preoccupied and living in the moment, as well as lacking patience, and not seeing the world around them. This is another good reason why I like this particular challenge topic.

Re knees - I have the same issue. Some of it comes with age. I have read about having a cushion for the knees. I try to take a towel with me when I go out on photo hikes so I have something to kneel on when I get low and shoot. I don't crouch well these days.

It is a very, very Asian Garden...by this I mean while people smile and we shake hands....occasionally as I have posted here, I take pictures of people there and while this is a large garden....not much English is spoken here....someone did offer to hold a steep one with a red version but, most people don't get the concept of the time that goes into making a good picture...or how many shots I might wish to make of a single subject, and I don't want to impose...so I snap one pro-forma image, smile, say thank you and bow....(but no damn good picture is going to come of this!)

The population is really old school East Asian...Old, non-English speaking with an occasional Hispanic....(white people, except for me, don't seem to hang our in gardens now that you make me think about it.)

It is also to be noted that I cut my knees kneeling....and then shifted to crouching or reaching up as the occasion demanded...but the kneeling and crouching is surprising difficult for me....or it surprised me how creaky I can become if I do this for even shortish periods....sigh

Maybe ask the person who grew the flower whether it could be staked briefly for photography?

I don't know the flower....it is on a long, high fibrous stem, six ft maybe, that made me crazy with its swaying in a moderate wind. I was hand holding the 77D with my refurbished 60mm Canon macrro lens, non-IS. Sigh....such a terrible adventure in photography...lol

I have a community garden, I am photographing other people's work....they do seem happy to see me though.

Best Wishes, Traveller

What kind of flower? Macro lens?

What are you talking about, not go over the top! I live in left field and push the limits all the time.
Speaking about left field, how about them Royals yesterday, whomping the Tigers. Today they wipe probably flipflop and get pounded and ground to a pulp right back.

I like this, as it shows the detail that nature can give us.

I like this one best of the group.

I prefer the bright center and the deeper colors.
