Velvet mite (Allothrombium)

Mer Bleue area

This mite was out and about even while there was deep snow on the ground. It had found a small area where the snow had melted and was busily exploring. They are tiny, about 0.5mm in size, hence the shot is not very sharp as I had to crop considerably.

Still a very good close-crop image of it Christine. Nice colour contrast too.
