The beach at Moeraki is known for spherical boulders with a circumference of up to 13 feet. Their origin is speculative, but it's believed that they formed on the sea bed about 60 million years ago.
To really appreciate this unique beach you need to arrive at low tide. Unfortunately we were about five hours late....
