Lola Mk 1 #41, Kurt Del Bene driver

Pacifc Raceway, Washington

The Lola Mk I was the first comerically designed and produced
race car by Lola cars and Eric Broadley which was established in 1958.
Along with being one of the very prettiest race cars of all time
(at least in my humble opinion) it had a great race history.
Previous to the Lola Mk I the Lotus 11 was the car to have in
the under 1,500 cc class. The Lola Mk I instantly made the Lotus
out of date and left in the dust. The Lola could challenge bigger
cars such as Ferrari especially on tighter courses.
The Lola Mk I weights about 1,100 pounds wet and delivers 115 hp
to the rear wheels and has a power to weight ratio of 10:1, the
tires are skinny and don't have a lot of grip compared to modern
cars and apparently loves to be driven loose.

Very nice pan.. can't imagine looking out over that much bonnet while racing.. not to mention how high the front wheel arches must be in your line of sight
