Yes, quite an elderly vehicle, but perhaps it is only on the road a few months a year. I have noticed ice cream vans last longer than those of builders for example.

Great shot! That seems to be a rather upscale ice cream truck. Our neighborhood had a little surplus army jeep with a tiny freezer bolted to the passenger side floor! It was hell to catch up with it on a hot day to spend my hard earned money (Yes, my money!) for such a small treat! It was a lesson in supply, demand, desire, want, and hype! When I figured out I could just ride into town to Arleen’s ice cream parlor anytime I wanted and get a big fat two scoop cone for the same price… My days of following the pack were over!

Brings back “sweet” memories. Hearings the chimes to announce the ice cream. Asking mom for a dime or two and ran out before they were gone. Lovely shot. V
