Van Gogh in Montmartre.

De juin 1886 à juin 1888 Vincent Van Gogh habita chez son frère Theo au 54 rue Lepic. Sur l’image ci-dessus cette maison à gauche se situe presque juste en face du 54. Elle existait déjà du temps du peintre. Il me plait de penser que Van Gogh passait devant lorsqu’il allait peindre sur la Butte Montmartre. Peut-être même levait-il de temps à autre les yeux vers elle ?

From June 1886 to June 1888 Vincent Van Gogh lived with his brother, Theo, at 54 rue Lepic. In the image above, this house on the left is almost opposite the 54. It already existed from the time of the painter. It pleases me to think that Van Gogh passed by when he was going to paint on the Montmartre Butte. Maybe he even looked up at it from time to time?
