Goodbye Alaskan Way Viaduct

Thousands of people wait to enter the Seneca Street off ramp to the viaduct; the highway people both love and hate with equal passion. It's to be replace by a 2 mile long deep bore tunnel, the longest of its kind in the world. For 60 plus years this highway has separated the city from its waterfront. It will soon be demolished and it will be for the better.

The iconic viaduct one of the daily drives to work I used to do. But I hope the tunnel is a success. V

A historic image. A fine perspective for a final farewell (perhaps one for reader's lens in the Times?)
