Our Resident Red Fox

Lake Frederick, Virginia

She's looking somewhat 'beat' from this past week's worth of cold winter, but she's out hunting dinner.
Watched her catch and eat (gulped) a large mouse (or small squirrel). Anyway she'll not be hungry tonight.
Got several more shots, but most show excessive 'molting' of her hind quarters.
Best viewed in 'original' size.

Great that she's used to you so that you can watch her hunt.

Terrific capture, Don. This is rare critter for our area.

Good to hear she's finding plenty of food and keeping the rodents in check. Another nice shot of her, Don.

A wonderful image of this beautiful fox. I have always heard they are more a nighttime prowler. so this was a wonderful opportunity. Great detail with this low angle capture. VV

Your precious series of the red fox would deserved a gallery. I like the precision of your photos and your ability for capturing this usually elusive subject
