Boudro’s Texas Bistro

San Antonio, Texas

This a hand held and therefore heavily edited.
The back story: Around 4 or 4:30 in the afternoon, the skies opened up and the rain came down in buckets. I had on my waterproof rain jacket but no umbrella, so I got soaked getting back to my hotel. When the rain stopped, I ventured out to this restaurant about 6pm and it was open, everything was perfectly dry - you would never have known it had rained only a short time ago. The blankets you see people wearing are provided by the restaurant if the customers feel cold.
Where I sat I would not have been protected from the rain if it had started up again, but I love a good adventure!
I took this after dinner from across the river.

Thanks for providing the story behind the image. I also like the contrast between the crowded main floor and the empty second floor.

Your adventure was not dull and you got a good picture for the circumstances.

When we moved to San Antonio in the mid-'70s we went house-hunting. In some areas above Loop 410 we found markers alongside the road, like what you see in snow areas. We found out when it started raining that they were to measure the water in low crossings, so that people would know whether it was safe to try to cross. During one storm while we lived there, North Loop 410 had high water and we had to traverse that part with 2 wheels up on the middle divider. I was glad that I was driving a van. The guy in front of me was driving a 'Vette. It's an interesting place to live. I love the Riverwalk and the way it has evolved. This restaurant looks like a great place to spend time. Great story and great capture. V

A beautiful night scene ! Don't know if it is crowdy because the place is famous or because the rain ...:) V.
