Signs at the offices of the World Wide Fund for Nature. We used to call it the World Wildlife Fund, a name I understand is still used in North America. Confusing!
Their UK headquarters are here in Woking, and this is part of a small educational display in the foyer.
World Wildlife Fund Australia changed its name ca. 1990 to World Wide Fund for Nature Australia, which used the acronym WWF Australia or WWF-Australia from at least 1996 until ca 2004 when it apparently changed its name officially to WWF Australia (although it also uses the logo: WWF-Australia). (From the WWF Australia website, 30/5/2005: 'WWF Australia, the conservation organisation formerly known as World Wildlife Fund and World Wide Fund For Nature, has been working globally since 1961, and locally since 1978'.) Works by these bodies are found under the name used at the time of publication.
Having a refurb to keep up with the new and modern Woking perhaps.
