1-20-2019 Blood Moon (Lunar Eclipse)

Woodway Washington

A rare combination of an almost total lunar eclipse and 'Super' moon.
Taken with a 500mm f4L and 2Xiii extender (1000mm). It was
extremely difficult to focus (even on manual) because it was so dark and
because of the lack of contrast.

Canon EOS 5D Mark III ,Canon EF 500mm f/4L IS USM
0.8s f/8.0 at 1000.0mm iso2000 (500mm + 2Xiii extender) full exif

Thank you very much Hal! It was challenging because of the low low light. I think the eclipse shadow had a lot to do with the 3-dimensional effect. I just pushed the shutter release button 🤓 Terry

lt is rare to see a photograph of the moon where it looks 3 dimensional like the sphere that it is. A remarkable photograph Terry. .
