Constructed pug and stone by a Cornishman of Norman lineage in 400mm thick wall, slate slab floors and open hearth fire places. The building features round chimneys of rubble slate a style unique to 17th century Normandy and the Cornwall-Devon border. The only other examples in Australia are the mine shaft vent at Burra and Wallaroo, but no other example on a domestic building.
