This was a sea bird you didn't get too close to - - that bill was capable of doing lots of damage.
During my year on Midway, spotted lots of these on Eastern Island. Best viewed in 'original' size.

Yashica,Yashinon i:2.8 f/4.5cm,Kodachrome Transparency
Used the Epson Perfection V500 Photo scanner at 1200 ppi to create a .jpg image.
Edited the digital .jpg using Nikon's Capture NX 2 to clean up aging damage.
