This is directly opposite the entrance to Woking railway station so is a bit of a gateway for that traffic. If I do remember the Albion Hotel on this site, it is fuzzy as it was demolished when I was 6 or 7. It was replaced by Albion House in the early 60s, and now that building is being extensively rebuilt and it seems that it may well be ready for business in a few weeks.

My photo depicts the side of the building with traces of Albion House twice. No doubt these letters will disappear shortly. I believe the new development is known as 'Woking One' but whether the name Albion name will survive in some form, I'm not sure.
