You are probably thinking, "What does herring have to do with it?" It is one of our favorite snacks. I would even go so far as to admit it is one of my guilty pleasures when eaten straight out of the jar with a fork. We also like the herring packed in sour cream. Very healthy with all those omega-3 fatty acids, protein and the like. When we were in Iceland I remember touring Siglufjordur which was a thriving herring fishing and packing center before the herring moved on. So, here's to those tasty little fishes.
