Early in 2018, I found from a seller in Japan, an Olympus Wide- S 35mm camera
dating from 1957, about the same era as when my interest in photography was
becoming quite strong. Wheras my first new camera was a Hanimex C35 budget
buy, paid from after-school earnings, this Olympus Wide S was of a type and price
which was only for the well heeled. I just had to wait 61 years, and buy a well used one.
The camera needed a good clean up and service, which I arranged, and now it is back
to join my modest collection. But I did want to shoot a roll of film through, just for old
times sake. Despite windy and cool overcast conditions, I fired off a few shots at the
beach (the Atlantic, formed by the confluence of the Ashley and Cooper rivers. )
I used expired-date film, and old developer, but still got something OK, though
not super duper. These 5 are they.
