Some fresh from the states on tour of Viet Nam for the first time, others were experienced & transferred from other in-country units.
These men were called FNG's (F___ New Guys). Acclimation takes a little while, with uneasiness and anxiety of what happens next.
For me, first day when I arrived to the company, at dusk, I was given a m16 and ordered to walk the company perimeter until well after dark. -
