Biên Hòa, Việt Nam - French Influence:
Picture shows a French Colonial house located at a small rubber plantation at the edge of Bien Hoa, not to be confused with Long Binh,
which was a huge U.S. military base in the same province also known as "The Plantation" built at a former site of French Michelin rubber.
Even though China is the historical preeminent cultural influence in Vietnam, the French during their 6 decades of colonization,
besides exploiting rubber, introduced western architecture, especially in cities.
The French also required French language to be taught in schools and I met numerous Vietnamese people who were fluent in that language. - 1970
