Shows incoming darker and grayer feathers on face, chest, sides, and back
Bill is brightly bicolored. Scapulars show dark anchor patterns or shaft streaks. Upper leg (tibia) is short and looks to be a grayish-green color. The gape (line behind the bill) turns downward in appearance rather than straight as in Herring Gull.
